autogame.exe plugin readme
Download link at the bottom. This is an older page and everything still applies but the current autogame does more than this as explained on http://www.adam16mr.org/autogame2007.html   and   http://www.adam16mr.org/autogame-logging.html. New features include noidle, rotating away messages, the prime game for those interested, and channel logging.
Install:
a. Create a copy of your Blitzin 2 icon: right-click on
the icon and select Copy, then right-click on the desktop and select Paste. If
you wish, you can also rename this new icon by right-clicking on it and selecting
Rename.
b. Edit the icon's command line: right-click on the new
icon, select Properties, click on the Shortcut tab, and go to the textfield
labelled Target.
c. Specify the filename of the plugin: in the Target
textfield, after c:\blitzin2\Blitzin2.exe (or similar), add a space, then add
/plugin=autogame.exe. This assumes the
plugin is in the same directory as Blitzin 2; if not, you need to specify the
full path as well, for example /plugin=c:\blitzin2\myplugins\autogame.exe. If
the path has a space in it for example 'program files' you need to put the
whole path in quotes. example /plugin="c:\program files\internet
chess\blitzin\autogame.exe".
d. Two or more
plugins can be installed for example by adding /plugin=autogame.exe
/plugin=observer1.exe to the target line.
This would install both the autogame plugin and the observer1 plugin and
both would launch with blitzin.
Use:
The autogame plugin will send a command to ICC that you
can alias in order to do things like greet an opponent or auto seek after a
game. 'help alias' which you can type on ICC explains how to make an alias. The
basic format is <alias name> <command>. use a + operator before aliasname to add an
alias. example +alias gamestart say hi from Seattle. The aliasname is gamestart, a command
autogame will send if you check it, the command part of the alias is 'say hi
from Seattle' which tells your opponent hi from Seattle at the start of the
game. say is an icc command for tell opponent.
You can alias the commands gamestart, gameend, gamewin,
gameloss, and gamedraw. And you can turn
on any combination of these. For example you may only want the gamestart alias
for the beginning of the game and the gameloss or gamewin alias to issue a rematch. Meaning in the cases you dont select no
command will be sent. To turn of the sending of a command uncheck it.
gameend will be sent at the end of any game regardless of
result if you check it. The default
selection is to not send gameend if you
have also turned on a result alias that applies for that games end. Or you can
uncheck this option and send both gameened and gamewin for example and have
them do different things. For example you might alias gamewin and gameloss to
an endgreeting and alias gameend to seek.
Or you could select dont send gameend if a result command is sent and
only turn on one result command say gamewin and gameend will be sent for the
rest of the cases. this assumes you have checked both gameend and gamewin.
By default all sent commands from autogame are unchecked
when you log on so you need to check the ones you want in order to start the
auto gamestart and gameend behavior. Once you have created an alias for the
various commands they will remain on your icc alias list tell you delete them
and you can also activate those aliases by typing their name on icc manually.
Autogame lets you ping and finger your opponent on move
1. Check in the gamestart section finger opponent and/or ping opponent. They will be sent in that order. Autogame
lets you set open to 0 on move 1 so when the game ends you wont be open. Check the set open 0 box to activate
this. If you are not open after a game
you cant be challenged or rematched. To
be open again and accept challenges type set open 1 or just type open to toggle
the setting back to 1. Issuing a seek
will make you open again. Clicking on a
seek will not make you open again. See
'help open' on icc. To allow an adjourned game to resume, if you check this
option autogame will set open 1 to reverse the setting on an adjournment which
allows you to receive the resume request.
If you disconnect type resume on login that will make you open again.
At game end you can elect to get the opening name and eco
code and examine the game you just played.
The command issued to examine is examine -1 which is different than set
examine 1, an option on icc to examine after a game, in that you will be the
only examiner and will not share the board with your opponent.
The final set of selections in autogame is to toggle your
kib and busy variables at gamestart and gameend. By turning kib off at the start of the game
you will hear no game kibs in your game and any game you observe. Autogame will toggle kib back on after the
game ends. You can do the same with busy
except you become busy at the start of the game and revert to not busy after
the game. Being busy means you accept no
tells from anyone except people on your icc notify list. With these two options you will get no tells
during a game or kibs but still get channel tells unlike icc's quietplay. Autogame turns them back on when the game
ends to allow you to receive tells again. see the icc's help files 'help kib'
and 'help busy'.
